Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Tacoma, WA seeks a board-certified/eligible OB/GYN to join our dedicated group at St. Joseph Medical Center. This full-time 1.0 FTE role focuses on diagnosing and managing complex women’s health cases with a patient-centered approach.

We offer a 4‑day workweek with 1:8 call, 24/7 in‑house Laborist and Anesthesia support, a Level III NICU, and a strong multidisciplinary team across the Franciscan Medical Group supporting high-quality care for mothers and babies.

Qualifications

• MD or DO; Board Certified/Board Eligible (must become BC within the first two years)
• WA State medical license required at time of employment
• DEA, NPI and prescriptive authority
• Current BLS for Health Providers certification by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat OB/GYN patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care.
• Engage in high quality obstetric and gynecologic care at St. Joseph Medical Center.
• Contribute to a team with a Level III NICU and in-house coverage.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our OB/GYN physician, you will join our dynamic healthcare team in Tacoma, specializing in diagnosing and treating a wide array of Women’s Health cases making a significant impact on their lives and families. We pride ourselves in practicing high quality, evidence based, and patient centered medicine.

You will provide compassionate and expert care, conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the holistic well-being of our patients and their families within Franciscan Medical Group.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate OB/GYN, possessing expertise in diagnosing and managing complex OB/GYN patients, alongside strong communication abilities. You will also demonstrate a deep commitment to patient-centered care and the capacity to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment.

• This is a full-time (1.0FTE) position based at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, a 375 bed Level III Trauma Center.




• There are 9 OB/GYN physicians, 18 CNM’s, 6 MFM, 1 Urogynecologist and 2 Gynecologic Oncologists at this location.




• All of our providers enjoy a 4 day workweek with 1:8 call coverage frequency.




• 24/7 in house Laborist and Anesthesia coverage.




• St. Joseph Medical Center has a Level III NICU capable of caring for infants as young as 22 weeks. We also have a partnership with Seattle Children’s for specialty newborn care if needed.




• St. Joseph Medical Center has achieved Baby Friendly designation as well as recognition by the International Lactation Consultant Association for excellence in lactation care.




• Our group does approximately215 deliveries per month.#HEC

Pay Range

$387,990 - $481,800 /year
