Job summary

Barton Associates seeks an OB/GYN physician for a 50-day assignment in South Dakota. The role includes managing shift blocks, weeknight and weekend call, inpatient rounds for obstetrics, newborns, and pediatric patients, and daily postpartum rounds.

You will provide prenatal care, lactation support, ultrasound, and newborn exams in both clinic and hospital settings. Strong compensation and travel-related expenses are provided; an A-rated malpractice policy is included.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Family Medicine Obstetrics.
• ACLS/BLS/NRP/PALS certifications are required.
• Experience in inpatient/outpatient OB care and newborn exams.
• Proficient with Cerner EMR in obstetric settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekday clinical duties and call shifts, including weeknights and weekends.
• Conduct inpatient rounding for obstetrics, newborns, and pediatric patients.
• Provide daily rounds for postpartum mothers after deliveries.
• Perform nursery rounds and newborn examinations prior to discharge.
• Manage prenatal care, low-risk L&D, and postpartum care.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled OB/GYN Physician for a 50-day assignment in South Dakota. The role involves managing multiple shift blocks, including weeknight and weekend call. Responsibilities include comprehensive clinical work, inpatient rounding for obstetrics, newborns, and pediatric patients, daily rounds for postpartum mothers, and newborn exams.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform weekday clinical duties and call shifts, including weekend call.
• Conduct inpatient rounding for obstetrics, newborns, and pediatric patients.
• Provide daily rounds for postpartum mothers following deliveries.
• Perform nursery rounds and newborn examinations, often prior to discharge.
• Manage prenatal care, routine low-risk labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
• Offer lactation support and conduct bedside and clinic ultrasound procedures.
• Provide pediatric care in a clinic setting.
• Perform chronic disease management, wellness exams, preventive care, and in-office procedures.

• Staffing Mix: 1 OB/GYN, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Registered Nurses (RNs), and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
