Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care and treatment to patients; offer consultation and medical supervision to clinical staff; perform routine examinations, diagnose illnesses and injuries, and provide treatment to promote patients’ well-being; provide immunizations as appropriate.
  • Patient Care: deliver quality care, respond to patient calls/messages, and maintain patient and clinic records, including daily patient encounters.
  • Monitor for signs of abuse/neglect and report in accordance with policy; recognize emergencies and respond per organizational policies.
  • Patient Access: participate in a physician call schedule and offer patient meeting slots as per the designed template.
  • Safety and Infection Control: support compliance with safety, infection control, quality improvement, and regulatory standards; apply standard and transmission-based precautions; maintain a clean clinic environment; report safety hazards to the clinic manager.
  • Medical Director Duties (if applicable): ensure provider compliance with patient access and care; communicate concerns and initiatives to administration and providers; develop and maintain work and call schedules.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Completed residency training.
  • Education: Doctoral Degree in Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • Licenses and Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Medical licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Skills and Abilities: Medical skills; computer software skills; working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4.
Work Environment and Schedule
  • Work Shift: Variable Hours (United States of America).
