Independence Health System seeks a qualified OB/GYN to diagnose, treat, and prevent medical conditions affecting women. The role involves monitoring pregnancy and childbirth, prescribing medication, and participating in patient care activities. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
The ideal candidate possesses an MD or DO degree and completed an OB/GYN residency. Responsibilities include admitting patients and attending consultations. This position requires a current medical license in Pennsylvania and offers a dynamic work environment.
Diagnose, treat and prevent medical conditions that affect women. Monitor and treat patients during pregnancy and childbirth. Prescribe medications or treatment regimens as appropriate. Order or interpret the results of laboratory tests and advanced imaging. Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury or disease, increasing patient functioning. Refer patients to specialists or other professionals as appropriate. Participate in continuing education activities to maintain license and enhance knowledge and skills. Direct, coordinate, or supervise the patient care activities of nursing or support services. Communicate with patients' primary care physicians upon hospital discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care. Attend inpatient consultations in areas of specialty. Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to patients in various settings. Admit patients for hospital stays and surgical procedures. Participate in Independence Health Medical Group meetings, Leadership meetings and Physician committees upon request. Work in a modern environment including audio‑dictation, EMR, and digital radiology. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Effective March 2020 or during the pandemic: goggles, face shield and mask are required according to CDC guidelines.
Physical demands: lifting in excess of 50 pounds requires assistance from a second person and/or a transfer device.
