Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a neurosurgeon with completed residency in neurosurgery and fellowships in Complex Spine Surgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery. The physician will provide comprehensive care for neurosurgical patients, including evaluation, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment, and postoperative management.

Location is Grand Blanc, MI with on-call coverage and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes; health system credentials

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent; residency in neurosurgery completed.
• Fellowships in Complex Spine Surgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery completed.
• Michigan medical license valid.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and diagnose neurosurgical conditions; plan surgical and non-surgical treatment.
• Manage inpatient admissions and postoperative care; monitor critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including MRI, CT, CTA, MRA and other neuro-diagnostics.
• Perform complex cranial and spinal procedures for tumors, trauma, vascular and degenerative diseases.
• Provide on-call neurosurgical coverage and emergent interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.

Job description

Responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment, inpatient admissions, postoperative care, management of post-operative complications, care of the critically ill neurosurgical patients in the ICU, and ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies including MRI, CT, CTA, MRA, and other Neuro-diagnostic testing; perform complex cranial and spinal surgical procedures, including brain tumors, cranial and spinal trauma, cerebrovascular disorders, intracranial infections, spinal infections, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine disease, spinal tumors, deformities, spinal fusion, spinal cord compression and other neurosurgical pathologist; participate in on-call neurosurgical coverage and emergency in neurosurgical interventions; collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation specialists, healthcare professionals, multidisciplinary teams and rehabilitation supportive services to coordinate and ensure comprehensive patient care; physician must have completed Residency in Neurosurgery, must have completed Fellowships in Complex Spine Surgery and in Pediatric Neurosurgery, and must possess valid State of Michigan medical license.
