Seeking BE/BC Neurologist to Join Epilepsy Team Near Hartford, CT

Our Epilepsy Center has experienced tremendous growth and is looking for a talented neurologist to join our dedicated team. We are committed to improving the lives of individuals with seizures throughout the state through a collaborative, inclusive model of care that emphasizes personalized and coordinated treatment, ensuring an excellent patient experience.

Our center is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including a full range of EEG types, 3T MRI, functional MRI, PET, Wada test, and epilepsy-focused neuropsychological evaluations. On the inpatient side, we feature a state-of-the-art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) within an ABRET-accredited EEG lab staffed by registered EEG technologists. We also perform SPECT studies with high-quality image processing and intracranial EEG monitoring with sophisticated brain reconstruction software for precise electrode localization and seizure interpretation.

Team and Environment

• Our clinical team comprises 10 epileptologists, 3 neurosurgeons, a nurse navigator, and an epilepsy clinic nurse. We collaborate closely with social workers, epilepsy psychiatrists, and neuropsychologists to attend to the behavioral health of our patients.
• Our care model is supported by outstanding advanced practice providers.
• We foster a warm, welcoming, and collaborative environment, combining a private practice approach in the clinic with an academic program structure.
• The UConn neurology residency program is based at Hartford Hospital, with the program director being one of our epileptologists.
• We offer excellent support for research activities.
• Regular meetings are held to discuss complex cases, review EEGs, discuss journal articles, and share ideas among epilepsy specialists.

Responsibilities

The role includes outpatient care for individuals with epilepsy, EEG reading, and rotations in the EMU and LTM schedules.
