Job description

Level IV Epilepsy Center is seeking a fellowship-trained BC/BE Epileptologist. We offer a collaborative and inclusive model of care, providing personalized, coordinated care with an excellent patient experience and a proven track record of quality and safety. Our center is equipped with all the specialized diagnostic and treatment tools needed to help people with seizures improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities include outpatient care for patients with seizures, interpretation of routine EEGs, EMU, LTM, and intracranial EEG services. We encourage interests in education, research, or quality improvement. Our team comprises 10 epileptologists, 3 epilepsy-trained neurosurgeons, and a group of outstanding advanced practice providers. Patient behavioral health is managed in collaboration with our social worker and psychiatrist.

We are a warm, welcoming, and collaborative group that balances a private practice approach with an academic program. The UConn neurology residents' inpatient training mainly occurs at Hartford Hospital, with a program director who is one of our epileptologists. We provide excellent research support. Our epileptologists regularly meet to discuss complex cases, review EEGs, analyze journal articles, and share ideas.

Our Center Offers:
  1. Advanced care for adults with seizures
  2. Accredited Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the NAEC
  3. Comprehensive diagnostic tools including various EEG types, 3T MRI, functional MRI, SPECT, PET, Wada test, and neuropsychological evaluations
  4. A state-of-the-art Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) in an ABRET-accredited EEG lab staffed with registered EEG technologists
  5. Intracranial EEG monitoring with sophisticated brain reconstruction software for precise electrode localization and seizure interpretation
  6. State-of-the-art surgical treatments such as DBS, RNS, VNS, and laser ablation
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Health benefits, 401K with match, CME allowance, and more
  • Paid malpractice insurance with 100% tail coverage
  • Coverage of board certifications and licenses
  • CME stipend available
