Summary

The Hershel "Woody" Williams VAMC, located in Huntington, WV, is a fully accredited 80-bed acute medical and surgical care facility offering primary care, outpatient mental health services, and subspecialty outpatient care. It serves as the principal teaching facility for the Marshall University School of Medicine for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Provides neurologic evaluation and treatment of Veterans on inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Interprets EEGs, Evoked Potential Studies, and performs EMGs.
• Manages administrative components of patient care, including documentation, orders, and consultation reports in electronic medical records.
• Participates in clinical, administrative, academic, and research aspects of a general Neurology program, including supervising residents.
• Manages patient workload with available staffing, including nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
• Utilizes clinical video telehealth and electronic consultations to enhance access to Neurology care.
• Ensures quality, timely services, customer satisfaction, and compliance with governing bodies like JCAHO.
• Collaborates with other VA physician services as appropriate.
