Job summary

Posterity Group LLC is staffing The Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center (HWW VAMC) with nephrologists to provide comprehensive kidney care for veterans. The role emphasizes evaluation and management across AKI, CKD, ESKD, and electrolyte disorders within a VA setting.

The nephrologist will oversee dialysis therapies, transplant patient care, and related procedures, with on-site coverage and potential bedside consults, under federal contract terms.

Qualifications

• Board Certification/Eligibility in Nephrology (ABIM or AOBIM).
• BLS and/or ACLS certification required.
• Valid and current medical license to practice.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nephrology experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nephrology services including evaluation and management of AKI, CKD, ESKD, electrolyte disorders and hypertension.
• Medical management of nephrolithiasis and kidney transplant patients.
• Oversee dialysis modalities: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and related therapies.
• Perform procedures such as vascular access management and possible kidney biopsy as contracted.
• Provide bedside consults when patients are ambulatory and outpatient clinic care when able.

Job description

Posterity Group LLC is a veteran owned, service-disabled small business, headquartered in Rockville, MD, that specializes in federal government contracting and staffing. We are tasked with staffing The Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center (HWW VAMC) with Nephrologists. The Nephrologist is expected to do the following:

VA Business Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, excluding federal holidays.

Weeknight call: Weeknight on-call hours start at 4:30pm through 8am each night Monday

through Thursday

Weekend call: Weekend on-call hours start on Friday at 4:30pm and continue to Monday at

8:00am.

• Shall provide comprehensive clinical Nephrology services including, but not limited to, evaluation and management of acute kidney injury (AKI), chronic kidney disease, end stage kidney disease (ESKD), fluid and electrolyte disorders, and hypertension
• medical evaluation and management of nephrolithiasis;
• medical management of kidney transplant patients;
• and evaluation and management of extracorporeal treatment for poisonings and intoxications.
• Management of AKI and ESKD includes prescription and medical oversight of the performance of kidney replacement therapy, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, prolonged intermittent kidney replacement therapy and/or continuous kidney replacement therapy, including management of vascular access and procedural complications.
• Additional procedural services may include placement of central and femoral venous dialysis catheters and percutaneous kidney biopsy, unless otherwise provided by or separately contracted for by VA facility
• shall provide consultative services at the patient’s bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic.
• Procedures shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult

Requirements

• Board Certification: All contract Nephrology provider(s) shall be Board Certified/Board Eligible physicians by either the American Board of Internal Medicine in Nephrology or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine
• BLS and or ACLS
• Valid and current license
• at least 3 years of relevant experience
