Ochsner Health in Gretna, LA is seeking a nephrologist to diagnose and treat kidney disease and provide renal replacement therapy in inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will evaluate and manage pre- and post-transplant care, order tests and imaging, and refer to specialists as needed. Travel to worksites in the New Orleans metro area is required.

Candidates must be licensed in Louisiana and complete a nephrology fellowship.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Louisiana medical license.
• Completion of a nephrology fellowship.

Nephrologists

Job Duties

Diagnose and treat disease conditions involving the kidneys and provide renal replacement therapy to patients with acute and chronic renal failure in the form of peritoneal and hemodialysis. Diagnose and treat the entire realm of kidney disease. In both the inpatient and outpatient settings, evaluate, diagnose, treat, monitor and manage the pre- and post-transplant care of kidney transplant patients. Order and execute tests, analyses and diagnostic images of patients with kidney conditions. Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment, analyzing results, diagnosing condition, administering and prescribing treatment regimen, including dialysis. Refer patients to other specialists as indicated. Travel to worksites in New Orleans metropolitan area frequently.
