Nephrologists

Job Duties

• Diagnose and treat disease conditions involving the kidneys and provide renal replacement therapy to patients with acute and chronic renal failure in the form of peritoneal and hemodialysis.
• Diagnose and treat the entire realm of kidney disease.
• In both the inpatient and outpatient settings, evaluate, diagnose, treat, monitor and manage the pre- and post-transplant care of kidney transplant patients.
• Order and execute tests, analyses and diagnostic images of patients with kidney conditions.
• Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment, analyzing results, diagnosing condition, administering and prescribing treatment regimen, including dialysis.
• Refer patients to other specialists as indicated.
• Travel to worksites in New Orleans metropolitan area frequently.
