UPMC Observation Services Director - Physician

UPMC, a leading healthcare provider committed to exceptional patient care and innovative medical solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician to serve as the Director for Observation Services. This role is vital in maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency within our observation units.

Primary Duties
  • Recruit and retain physicians for ED Observation (Obs) services
  • Oversee quality measures and outcomes for the program
  • Engage with referring physicians and address their concerns
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to ED Obs physicians on clinical and administrative performance
  • Ensure patients meet quality and satisfaction guidelines set by regulatory and payer agencies
  • Act as a liaison between the ED Obs program and other clinical departments
  • Ensure timely patient communication and address patient questions
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments to meet system-wide goals related to ED Obs
  • Work with nursing and clinical staff to develop and implement care protocols for optimal patient care
