Salary: $332,800.00 - 347,942.40 based on a 1.0 FTE

Position Summary

MultiCare Health System is seeking a Medical Control Officer Physician responsible for providing safe and effective medical direction to determine the appropriate level of care and facility disposition for all patients transferring into or between MultiCare Health System facilities.

  • Has complete decision-making authority to facilitate capacity management across MHS, including patient progression, avoiding unnecessary admissions, and decreasing length of stay.
  • Provides system medical direction and prioritizes patient placement into scarce resources to meet community needs.
  • Works in a multidisciplinary environment, using critical thinking to interpret complex information and guide patients to appropriate care facilities and levels of care.
  • Develops and leverages technology to improve understanding of each CBU's capability and capacity.
Requirements
  • Qualified as 'provider' under Medicare or Medicaid programs.
  • 5 years of clinical experience as a hospitalist preferred.
  • Board certification/eligibility (MD/DO) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Med/Peds, Hospital Medicine; leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience with data analytics, utilization management, case management, and process improvement preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted Physician license in WA and applicable neighboring states.
  • Privileging and credentialing at all MHS sites.
