Job summary

Next Level Medical in Austin, TX seeks a physician to provide primary and episodic care in collaboration with other clinicians. You will follow CMO-approved standards, maintain patient flow, and promote health education and disease prevention.

You will prescribe medications, ensure safety and quality, and supervise mid-level providers. Strong communication and patient-management skills are essential, with TX licensure and board certification required.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) graduate of an accredited medical school.
  • Valid Texas Medical License and Board Certification.
  • Outstanding knowledge of medications, side effects and contraindications.
  • Excellent patient management and communication skills.
  • Clinical experience in emergency/urgent care or ambulatory clinic preferred.
  • BLS certification; DOT certification within 2 months of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Emphasizes health promotion and/or disease prevention through patient education and coordination of care. Follows regulations and guidelines for writing prescriptions.

General Accountabilities
  • Assure efficient and smooth patient visit experience.
  • Follow company patient-care protocols.
  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.
  • Selects, orders, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to laboratory, radiology, EKG, etc....
  • Performs duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the Texas Medical Board
  • Prescribes medication doses appropriate for each patient and explains correct uses.
  • Maintains quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Exercises tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential patient issues and situations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Learns computer software programs; enters and maintains accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Supervises nurse practitioners and physician assistants
Job Qualifications
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Valid Texas Medical License
  • Outstanding knowledge of medications, side effects and contraindications
  • Outstanding patient management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clinical experience in an emergency, urgent care or ambulatory clinic setting preferred
  • BLS certified
  • Unrestricted DEA license
  • Board Certified
  • DOT certified within 2 months of hire
Environmental And Physical Requirements
  • Candidate must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, have cognitive skills for math, reading, filing and sterile technique skills.
  • Communication skills to deal well with employees, patients and families
  • Vision for near, mid-range, far and accommodation. Hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
  • Job requires physical ability for long-term standing, occasional sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching with reaching above head and below waist.
  • Job risks include exposure to blood and body fluids (high), contact with chemicals, lifting of 30 - 40 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease.
