Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an MD/DO with an active Kentucky license to join our clinic as a Buprenorphine prescriber. You will conduct intakes, monitor progress, answer patient questions, and authorize prescriptions during monthly visits within a team-based care model.

This role focuses on medical management with in-office work and credentialing, completing EMR notes on schedule, and adhering to clinical protocols to ensure compliant patient care.

Qualifications

• Active State License (MD/DO) in the applying state.
• Active Individual DEA with address in applying state.
• Buprenorphine prescribing training or SAMHSA designation.
• Minimum 1 year actively prescribing Buprenorphine.
• Board certification (MD/DO) present.

Job description

• Assist in conducting intakes after patients complete an extensive counselor evaluation
• Monitor patients’ clinical progress during regular group counseling sessions
• Answer patient questions and manage medication dosing
• Authorize patient prescriptions during monthly visits with patient panels
• Complete notes and reporting in the Groups EMR system within the required timeline
• Follow strict protocols for clinical decision-making
• Focus on medical management while the team-based system handles day-to-day patient management and regulatory compliance

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered state license (MD/DO) in the state where applying
• Active individual DEA with an address in the state where applying
• DEAX designation as formerly required to prescribe Buprenorphine, or proof of 8 hours of qualified training as assigned by SAMHSA
• Minimum 1 year actively prescribing Buprenorphine
• Proof of active board certification (MD or DO; any specialty)
• Ability to work in-office at least 5 hours per week
• Eligibility for hours begins approximately 3 months after initiation of credentialing and training
