Due to our growth, we are hiring a Physician Liaison at Wake Research, an M3 company. This role is remote with travel.

Job Description

We seek an experienced, relationship-driven Physician Liaison to build strategic partnerships with independent physicians and provider groups to enhance patient recruitment into clinical trials. This role requires understanding healthcare operations, HIPAA compliance, and clinical research nuances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Physician Outreach & Partnership Development: Identify and engage physicians and clinics with eligible patients for trials. Build trusted relationships and communicate research value.
  2. BAA Negotiation & Execution: Lead negotiation and signing of Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and related contracts to ensure compliant access to patient data.
  3. Recruitment Strategy Development: Collaborate with clinical teams to create tailored recruitment plans, leveraging partner databases ethically and legally.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all outreach and data sharing comply with HIPAA and other privacy laws.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as liaison between external providers and internal teams to align recruitment strategies with study needs.
  6. Market Intelligence & Reporting: Track outreach and recruitment performance, and feedback to improve partnership effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare administration, business, or related field
  • 3–7 years in physician relations, clinical recruitment, or healthcare partnerships
  • Proven success in contract negotiations, stakeholder management, especially BAAs or data-sharing agreements
  • Deep knowledge of HIPAA, patient privacy, and ethical recruitment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, target-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with clinical trial site operations
  • Experience with EHR data or patient registries for recruitment
  • Network of independent or small-group physicians in neurology, endocrinology, pulmonary, or primary care
