Job description

Children’s Specialized ABA is designed to address the comprehensive needs of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). By leveraging the expertise of the Children’s Specialized Hospital Autism Center of Excellence, the program aims to expand access to innovative and compassionate care, empowering children diagnosed with autism to thrive. Children’s Specialized ABA offers home-based, community-based, and center-based ABA therapy.

At Children’s Specialized ABA, we envision a future where every child diagnosed with autism has access to innovative and compassionate care, empowering them to thrive and reach their full potential. Our vision is built on four core values:

  • Inclusivity: We celebrate the diversity within the Autism spectrum and are committed to creating an inclusive environment that respects and values each person’s individual strengths and differences.
  • Innovation: We foster a culture of creativity and collaboration, exploring new ideas to develop personalized solutions that enhance quality of life for all children with Autism.
  • Connection: We actively engage with the health systems and broader community to coordinate services and care for people with Autism.
  • Quality and Safety: We invest in research and training to provide cutting-edge, effective, safe, and personalized services tailored to the unique needs of those we serve.

The Physician Liaison serves as the bridge between Children’s Specialized ABA (CSABA) and the medical and healthcare community, building relationships that help connect more children and families to high-quality autism care.

This field-based business development role is responsible for developing and strengthening referral relationships with pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other professionals who serve children with autism. The Physician Liaison will educate providers about CSABA’s services, strengthen communication throughout the referral process, and drive sustainable referral growth across our center-based and in-home programs.

Every provider relationship you build can create a pathway to care for a child and family who needs compassionate, whole-child ABA therapy.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, relationship-driven, highly organized, and energized by being in the community. Experience in healthcare, physician relations, business development, sales, or marketing is preferred, along with demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.

This is a high-energy, field-based role for someone who thrives on being on the go. You will spend the majority of your time in your assigned territory, visiting provider offices, hosting educational programs and events, conducting lunch-and-learns, and developing relationships that strengthen CSABA’s presence in the local healthcare community.

The Physician Liaison reports directly to the Director of Physician & Provider Relations and plays a critical role in expanding access to CSABA’s whole-child, compassionate approach to ABA therapy.

What You’ll Do

Provider Relationship Development

Build and sustain strong referral relationships with pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, neurologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals serving children with autism.

Conduct regular provider office visits, lunch-and-learns, and educational presentations to increase awareness and understanding of CSABA’s services and care model.

Serve as a trusted resource for providers by sharing information about autism diagnostic pathways, early intervention, available services, and the CSABA referral process.

Develop and execute a territory-based outreach plan designed to increase provider engagement, strengthen referral relationships, and grow new patient volume.

Identify new referral opportunities and cultivate relationships with high-potential providers and healthcare organizations throughout the assigned territory.

Maintain regular communication with referring providers and help ensure they receive appropriate updates regarding their patient referrals.

Partner with internal teams to identify opportunities for physicians and other clinical experts to participate in educational programs and community events.

Referral Growth & Community Engagement

Drive consistent referral growth through proactive outreach, relationship management, and disciplined follow-through.

Plan and execute provider-focused events, including breakfasts, lunches, dinners, educational programs, CEU events, and provider appreciation activities.

Represent CSABA at relevant medical conferences, seminars, community events, and new center openings.

Build relationships with schools, early intervention programs, community organizations, and other partners that can help connect families to appropriate care.

Collaborate closely with Intake and Operations to support timely provider communication and create a seamless referral experience for families.

Help expand awareness and access to CSABA services among providers and communities serving families of diverse backgrounds.

CRM, Territory Management & Performance

Maintain timely and accurate documentation in HubSpot of provider interactions, outreach activities, referral activity, follow-up needs, and relationship status.

Track provider referrals and use data to identify trends, opportunities, and priorities within the territory.

Monitor key performance indicators, including referral volume, provider engagement, territory coverage, office visits, meetings, events, and other outreach activities.

Prepare weekly and monthly activity and performance reports and participate in regular territory planning and performance reviews with the Director of Physician & Provider Relations.

Manage follow-up consistently to ensure opportunities and provider relationships continue to move forward.

Ensure all outreach activities comply with HIPAA requirements, organizational policies, and applicable healthcare marketing standards.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in healthcare, physician relations, business development, sales, marketing, or a related field preferred.

Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and customer service skills.

Confident and engaging communicator who is comfortable meeting with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to independently manage a geographic territory.

Comfortable spending the majority of the workweek in the field and traveling throughout an assigned market.

Strong follow-through and accountability with a focus on measurable results.

Ability to use CRM tools to manage relationships, document activity, and track performance.
