Job summary

US Digestive Health is seeking a Physician Liaison to serve as the primary relationship manager with referring providers across Pennsylvania and Delaware. This field-based role focuses on building relationships with community providers, staff, and patients, increasing awareness of US Digestive Health services, and supporting growth initiatives in the region.

The position requires healthcare background, strong communication, and travel throughout PA and DE.

Qualifications

• Healthcare background and/or experience in provider relations or sales.
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree and significant experience in the health care or pharmaceutical sales field.
• Nursing credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with community providers and practice staff to increase awareness and utilization of US Digestive Health services.
• Conduct regular provider outreach visits to educate providers and patients on services, access pathways, and resources.
• Analyze referral patterns and market opportunities to identify growth and execute outreach strategies.
• Serve as primary liaison between physicians, patients, and US Digestive Health locations; resolve operational or access concerns.
• Coordinate educational programs, community events, and other marketing initiatives to strengthen relationships.
• Maintain documentation of outreach activities and prepare regular reports and recommendations.

Summary / Objective

The Physician Liaison serves as the primary relationship manager between US Digestive Health and referring providers throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware. This field-based role focuses on developing relationships with community providers and patients, increasing awareness of US Digestive Health providers and services, improving provider and patient satisfaction, and supporting growth initiatives across the region.

Essential Functions

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with community providers, practice administrators, office managers, and clinical staff to increase awareness and utilization of US Digestive Health services.
• Conduct regular provider outreach visits to educate community providers and patients on US Digestive Health providers, clinical services, access pathways, and patient care resources.
• Analyze referral patterns, market opportunities and provider engagement data to identify growth opportunities and execute outreach strategies.
• Serve as the primary liaison between community physicians, patients, and US Digestive Health locations, facilitating communication and resolving operational or patient access concerns.
• Investigate and manage service recovery opportunities, ensuring timely resolution of provider and patient concerns and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Coordinate educational programs, community outreach events, lunch-and-learns, and other marketing initiatives to strengthen relationships.
• Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, and referral patterns and communicate actionable insights to leadership.
• Maintain accurate documentation of outreach activities, access intelligence, and provider interactions; prepare regular reports and recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians, practice managers, operations leaders, and clinical staff to improve intake and access processes and enhance the overall provider and patient experience.

Competencies

• Excellent customer service, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, medications, & ICD-10 codes.
• Ability to work consultatively with practice managers, physicians, and clinical staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Work Environment

This position may be located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, or at the individual office location based on the needs of the practice.

Physical Demands

• Repetitive hand movement due to extended computer use.
• Extensive phone and computer usage.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.

Travel

Field-based position requiring daily travel throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware. Limited overnight travel may be required. Geography may be expanded in the future. Reliable transportation is required.

OSHA Exposure Level

Low risk, no expectation of exposure to blood/body fluids.
