Job description

Summary

The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician (Interventional Radiologist & Neuroradiologist). The Physician will function in the Imaging Service.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or license requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed to have met the basic requirements.

Basic Requirements
  • United States Citizenship (non-citizens only when qualified citizens are unavailable)
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school
  • Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US
  • Completed residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Residents enrolled in accredited residency programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs)
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Preferred: Board certification in Diagnostic Radiology and completion of fellowships in Vascular Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic Neuroradiology, and Interventional Neuroradiology
  • Postgraduate work experience of at least five years in interventional radiology and neuroradiology
  • Knowledge of MRI safety, with experience as MRI Safety Officer or Medical Director
  • Certification in BLS and ACLS for conscious sedation
Responsibilities
  • Performing and interpreting general and neurological diagnostic procedures, including angiographic and non-angiographic interventional procedures
  • Interpreting CTA and MRA for vascular assessment and surgical planning
  • Providing lectures and case reviews for residents
  • Supervising residents in the angiography suite
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings and conferences
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment like PACS and voice recognition systems
  • Performing diagnostic angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements, and other interventional procedures
  • Leading within the department on MRI quality and safety
