Opportunity Information

Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) is recruiting for a Board Eligible or Board Certified Ambulatory Palliative Care Physician. Provide Palliative Medicine consultation services and participate in Palliative Supportive Care Services interdisciplinary team.

Founded in 2005, Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) is a rapidly growing multi-specialty medical group with physicians and advanced practice clinicians working across more than ten care centers and four hospitals in the San Francisco East Bay Area. SEBMG is affiliated with the Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation (SEBMF), a not-for-profit organization supporting our medical group with technology and clinical resources to ensure excellent patient care. SEBMG includes over 400 clinicians across twenty specialties, dedicated to serving our community.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing Palliative Medicine consultation services in various settings: Home, SNF, RCFE, Hospital, and Office (including Palliative Care, Cancer Center, and embedded primary care clinics).
  2. Coordinating with interdisciplinary team members, including NPs, social workers, RNs, chaplains, and care coordinators.
  3. Facilitating access to supportive care services and coordinating with inpatient colleagues, referring providers, outside agencies, and hospices.
  4. Following clear referral criteria (excluding chronic pain management).
  5. Contributing to outpatient program development through quality improvement projects and educational outreach.

Qualifications include:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • Subspecialty Board certification or eligibility in Hospice/Palliative Medicine
  • Current California medical license in good standing
