Hayward Wellness Center, part of Alameda Health System, is an outpatient center serving a diverse patient population in Hayward, CA. We provide quality, accessible care to our community's most vulnerable patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Our services include full scope adult and pediatric primary care, women's health, gynecology, family planning, obstetric and prenatal care, as well as specialty care such as orthopedics, optometry, endocrine, rheumatology, and podiatry. We also offer on-site lab services, behavioral health therapy, nutrition services, and case management. Job Summary

Under direction, provides professional medical services to patients at Alameda Health System hospitals and clinics. Assists in the administrative and professional direction of a medical specialty service, offers consultative services, and may serve as an administrative and professional assistant to the chief of a specialty service. When assigned, may relieve the chief in their absence. May directly supervise Physician I level staff. Performs related duties as required.

Duties & Essential Job Functions
  1. Provides compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered care.
  2. Participates in supervising Mid-level Practitioners/Certified Nurse Midwives in assigned clinical areas.
  3. Practices evidence-based medicine, staying current with standards of care.
  4. Delivers cost-effective care, managing time and patient flow efficiently.
  5. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of patient care responsibilities, including lab results, medication refills, and radiology reports.
  6. Collaborates effectively with the clinical team to improve quality of care and service delivery.
  7. Educates patients, families, and staff; provides counseling to promote good health practices.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Experience: Completion of an approved residency in an appropriate specialty.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (required for certain positions), Basic Life Support Certification or PALS or ACLS, and a valid DEA Number.
  • Possession of a current valid license to practice medicine in California, with Board Certification or eligibility in the specialty area. Board Certification must be completed within three years of hire. Applicants with a California Postgraduate Training License may apply but must hold a valid California medical license to work.
