Job description

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking an internal medicine or family medicine board certified or board eligible physician to join their dynamic team. The hospitalist position is non-PTO accruing position, benefits eligible.

Job Duties

Geisinger Lewistown Hospitalis a 123-bed acute care community hospital serving the 80,000 residents of Mifflin and Juniata counties and members of the contiguous counties of Centre, Perry, Snyder, and Huntingdon. Established in 1905, the hospital provides inpatient, outpatient, wellness and community services while employing over 1,000 full-time and part-time employees and providing a Medical Staff consisting of more than 150 physicians and allied health practitioners representing specialties ranging from family medicine, internal medicine, and cardiology to infectious disease and general/cardiovascular surgery.

Position Schedule:

  • 7 days on - 7 days off
  • 7 PM - 7 AM
  • ICU: Open
  • Procedures: None

Position Summary

  • Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.Performsand/orinterpretsdiagnostic testsas needed.
  • Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness.May prescribeor administermedications.Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that includepatients'histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes.
  • Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
