Job description

Job Summary: Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to join their dynamic team. The hospitalist position is non-PTO accruing and benefits-eligible.

Job Duties

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is a 123-bed acute care community hospital serving approximately 80,000 residents across Mifflin and Juniata counties, as well as neighboring counties including Centre, Perry, Snyder, and Huntingdon. Established in 1905, the hospital offers inpatient, outpatient, wellness, and community services, employing over 1,000 staff and a medical staff of more than 150 physicians and allied health practitioners across various specialties.

Position Schedule
  • 7 days on - 7 days off
  • 7 PM - 7 AM
  • ICU: Open
  • Procedures: None
Position Summary
  • Interview patients to gather information on symptoms, medical histories, and family histories. Perform and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Diagnose and develop treatment plans for injuries and illnesses. Prescribe or administer medications. Maintain and review patient records, including histories, examination findings, and treatment outcomes.
  • Work primarily in a clinical and office environment. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures. Additional department-specific competencies will be outlined during orientation.
