Barton Associates is seeking a dedicated Hematologist/Oncologist for a 120-day assignment in Texas starting Jan 4, 2027. The role follows a Monday–Friday 8 AM–5 PM schedule with substantial night and weekend call.

The physician will manage outpatient chemotherapy orders, consult on solid tumors and hematologic conditions, and oversee inpatient chemotherapy for leukemias and high-grade lymphomas, collaborating with a hospitalist team and a full-time pharmacist.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
• Experience with outpatient and inpatient chemotherapy management.
• Ability to work a night and weekend call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage outpatient chemotherapy orders.

This role involves a Monday-Friday 8 AM to 5 PM schedule, supplemented by significant night and weekend 24-hour call, covering a minimum of two weeks per month. The physician will manage outpatient chemotherapy orders, consult on a range of solid tumors and hematologic conditions, and oversee inpatient chemotherapy for acute leukemias and high-grade lymphomas within a county hospital setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage outpatient chemotherapy orders.
• Participate in Hematology/Oncology rotations at a county hospital.
• Provide consultations on solid tumors, both benign and malignant hematology.
• Oversee inpatient chemotherapy for acute leukemias and high-grade lymphomas.
• Co-manage patients admitted to Hospitalist or teaching teams.
• Collaborate with a full-time pharmacist on inpatient chemotherapy orders.
