Job description

Seeking BC/BE OB Laborist in Dayton, OH

We are looking for a Board Certified or Board Eligible OB Laborist to join our team in Dayton, OH. The position involves 24 hours of on-site care and management, with the OB Laborist on duty from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, working collaboratively to provide continuous coverage.

  • Group currently has 6 physicians and is growing
  • Full-time position
  • Schedule: 7 p.m. - 3 a.m., Sunday through Thursday
  • 1:6 call schedule
  • Over 5,000 births handled
Requirements:
  • Board Certified/Eligible, preferably with experience in a busy obstetrical practice
  • American Trained, US Citizen or Permanent Resident
OB Laborist Responsibilities:
  • Act as the attending on call during scheduled hours
  • Manage patients independently, including OB admissions, deliveries (without primary physician present), and inpatient care
  • Respond to emergencies, perform cesarean sections, or other necessary procedures as needed, including when the primary provider is unavailable
  • See all OB triage patients, document and bill appropriately, and complete accurate H&P on admission
  • Obtain consent for care and treatment
  • Care for and stabilize patients in the Emergency Department requiring OB services
  • Follow established clinical guidelines
  • Evaluate and manage admitted OB or GYN patients
  • Handle postpartum issues such as fever and hemorrhage
