Qualifications

Children’s Nebraska, in affiliation with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Pediatrician and Geneticist to join our growing program. Biochemical training is highly preferred.

Position Highlights

  • Pediatric & Adult Care: Serve patients across the age spectrum.
  • Sustainable Practice Model: Optimized clinic structure and an evolving call rotation with external biochemical genetics coverage as needed designed to support work-life integration.
  • Shape a Growing Program: Influence clinical protocols, quality improvement, and service design.
  • Teaching Without Heavy Academic Burden: Opportunities to teach within a primarily clinical environment; academic appointments through UNMC; research/scholarly opportunities available.
  • Engage in quality improvement, guideline development, and program development aligned with national standards and best practices.
Program Overview

With a faculty appointment in the UNMC College of Medicine, the physician filling this role will join a growing clinical genetics program that provides comprehensive genetics care across the lifespan and serves as a major regional referral center. Genomic diagnostics will be foundational to this role, with a practice centered on phenotype driven evaluation and interpretation of genetic and genomic testing to guide medical management, anticipatory guidance, and family counseling. The physician will deliver care across a broad range of genetic conditions and diagnostic questions in close collaboration with pediatric and adult subspecialty partners. The position will provide a strong clinical base with flexibility to develop and grow individual interests, including opportunities to expand services, advance care pathways, and shape program growth aligned with the physician’s expertise and career goals.
