Job description

Corewell Health is seeking a board-certified General Surgeon with certification in Surgical Critical Care to join our established team at Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a cohesive and well-supported group of two employed general surgeons, emphasizing collaborative practice and high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate must be certified in Surgical Critical Care. Responsibilities include managing the surgical intensive care unit (SICU), performing general surgical procedures, and contributing to surgical call coverage. Skills in colonoscopies are strongly desired, and robotic skills are a plus. The physician will also provide consultative services and work closely with multidisciplinary teams.

This role is primarily based at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe, with 25–40% of responsibilities at Corewell Health Lenox in Macomb County, a newly established facility designed to increase access to surgical and emergency care in a suburban setting.

Our team values collaboration, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development. Faculty appointment through Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine is available and encouraged.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Certification in Surgical Critical Care required
• Fellowship training or significant experience in Trauma Surgery; colonoscopy skills preferred
• Robotic surgery experience is a plus
• Eligible for unrestricted Michigan medical license and DEA
• Current BLS and ACLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
