Job description

Full time or part time

Colorado Permanente Medical Group is seeking a board eligible or board-certified General Ophthalmologist or fellowship-trained Glaucoma physician in Denver, Colorado.

We have an excellent opportunity to join a highly collegial team of ophthalmologists in Denver, Colorado. Our practice is stable and growing, making us one of the largest ophthalmology practices in Colorado. We are protected from nonmedical interests such as private equity. This is a shareholder track position with an opportunity at year 3 to become a shareholder of Colorado Permanente Medical Group.

Our group consists of 18 collegial and supportive ophthalmologists, with nearly all subspecialties represented, including 2 full-time glaucoma subspecialists. The practice you will join is turn-key, with current volumes exceeding the support needed for a third surgical glaucoma subspecialist, without the need for practice building.

Our physicians are free to focus on clinical medicine. The practice is professionally managed, and while leadership opportunities exist, there is no expectation of administrative responsibilities for group physicians. State-of-the-art equipment, devices, AI Abridge, and Epic EMR are in use. You will practice at a new medical office with an onsite ambulatory surgery center, with no satellite practice expected.

Our ophthalmology services include:
  • Cataract care with cataract surgery
  • Medical retina with intravitreal injections
  • Medical glaucoma and in-office procedures such as chalazion, lesion removal, and lasers
Our glaucoma subspecialists

see patients on a referral basis and also offer cataract care. Medical and surgical glaucoma are managed in conjunction with supporting integrated Kaiser Permanente general ophthalmologists and optometrists. They perform cataract surgery, MIGS, lasers, and more complex glaucoma surgeries. Due to the breadth and depth of experience in our group, there are opportunities to focus on specific interests and develop new skills.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Our full-time ophthalmologists practice four days a week. We highly value a healthy work/life balance. Kaiser Permanente offers a generous benefits and retirement package, including a starting bonus and relocation bonus.

Community and Lifestyle

Denver is an exceptional community, a world-class city at the base of the continent's most stunning mountain playground. We invite you to explore and consider joining our team.

Benefits Package
  • Medical and dental coverage
  • Life insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • Professional liability coverage (occurrence-based)
  • 401(k) with match and Defined Benefit Retirement Plan (Cash Balance)
  • Vacation, holidays, sick leave, and educational leave with funds
  • In-house CME opportunities
  • Salary range: minimum $365,620 and maximum $430,141, based on experience and FTE
