Job Description

The competent Nurse, with similar clinical experience, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care.

1. Provides routine and complex nursing care, focusing on long-term goals and contingency management.
2. Delegates tasks appropriately to care team members to manage clinical situations effectively.
3. Meets competency standards in self-leadership, team leadership, or leadership of leaders.
4. Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for assigned patients.
5. Addresses patients' psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs in accordance with their level of practice.
6. Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
7. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
8. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers.
