Job summary

Community Health Center of Snohomish County is seeking a Physician to provide comprehensive medical care for all ages within a team of clinicians and support staff. The role includes diagnostic and therapeutic services, with emphasis on low-risk obstetrics and prenatal care, in alignment with Washington state licensing and scope of practice.

The position requires an MD or DO, residency in family practice/internal medicine/pediatrics, and WA licensure with board eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics; certification within 1 year of hire.
  • WA medical license; DEA registration; hospital privileges within 60 days.
  • CPR/AED or ACLS certification within 45 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical care to patients of all ages per WA licensure and practice scope.
  • Deliver diagnostic and therapeutic medical services with sound assessments.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data; order labs and diagnostics.
  • Interpret data to determine appropriate procedures; advise on health and prevention.
  • Provide low-risk obstetric care, prenatal, routine deliveries, and postpartum care.
  • Document encounters accurately and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

The salary range for 1.0 FTE is $196,658.66 – $249,158.66 based on years of experience; additional annual $20,000 OB differential, plus $10,000 for cesarean deliveries.
Sign-on bonus: $10,000, more for relocation.

Job Summary

The Physician operates in a team with other clinic healthcare providers and support staff. The Physician provides medical care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice. In addition, the Physician provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services to CHC patients, while making reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans. The Physician provides low risk obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries, and post partum care.

Preferred
Education
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (e.g., family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics).

  • Education and training in specialized care such as family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and prenatal.
Experience
Preferred
  • Not less than a 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) of patient care within field of training within the past year.
  • CPT-4 coding experience.
  • ICD-10 coding experience.
  • Healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience.
  • Experience in a multiple provider medical practice.
  • Working with low income, multi-ethnic populations.
Credentials
  • Physician license (MD/DO) with the State of Washington.
  • Board eligible/Board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics. Board certification - must be obtained within one year from date of hire.
  • DEA controlled substances registration.
  • Hospital privileges - must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers (ACLS) certification - must be obtained within 45 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate.

  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO)
Other
  • Verified immunity to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), and varicella (chickenpox). Immunity may be demonstrated through vaccination records or titer results. Medical or religious accommodation requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Job Specific Functions/Performance:
  • Provides medical care to all age groups in accordance with the State of Washington Department of Licensing and professional scope of practice.
  • Provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services to CHC patients. Makes reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans.
  • Obtains complete medical history and physical data from patients.
  • Interprets and integrates data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Promotes medical care through direct patient care and education.
  • Identifies special needs of CHC patients and works with staff to address those needs.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement and Utilization Management programs and activities.
  • Documents encounters in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provides therapeutic intervention following accepted guidelines or protocols.
  • Coordinates delivery of care with appropriate clinical staff to ensure quality of care is met.
  • Provides low risk obstetric care, including prenatal care, routine deliveries, and post partum care.
  • Adheres to attendance standards in order to perform the job functions for daily operations and/or continuity of patient care.
