Henry Ford St. John Family Medicine Residency Program is seeking a full-time Family Medicine physician to join the team. Established in 1973, the program admits seven residents annually.

This employed position involves 90% clinical work, including one precepting session per week, typically comprising 7-8 clinical sessions, 1-2 precepting sessions, and administrative duties, with some after-hours hours.

The residency clinic is located in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, affiliated with Henry Ford St. John Hospital in Detroit. It handles approximately 500 outpatient visits weekly, including full-scope family medicine and procedures. Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-7:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm.

The team includes eight faculty physicians, a behavioral medicine PhD, a care coordinator, and a pharmacy team, with an on-site lab. Inpatient care involves an average of 10 patients daily, with shared rounding on a 1:9 week schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
• Board eligible in Family Medicine; board certification and teaching experience are preferred.
• Research experience and special interests in areas like palliative care, wound care, sports medicine, or women’s health are highly desirable.
