Job summary

Avera Windom Clinic is seeking a Medical Doctor to provide direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in a comprehensive care setting. You will participate in team rounds, deliver patient education, and maintain accurate medical records while following approved protocols.

The role includes on-site responsibilities with on-call involvement as part of the shift pattern. The position requires MD or DO credentials with board eligibility/certification and an active or eligible DEA license,

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the service state and board certified or board eligible.
• DO privilege and board eligibility considered for DO candidates.
• Active DEA license or eligibility to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients per approved protocols and standards.
• Provide medical services and health education to patients and families.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain records.
• Collaborate with care team to coordinate referrals and care plans.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewProvides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice.What you will doAssesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members. Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.Provides quality care for patient, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients.
