Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.
• Board certified within 2 years of residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics.
• Active Florida Medical License.
• Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License.
• 3 years of experience as a practicing physician preferred in primary care settings.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of diagnosing, treating human injuries and illnesses, and preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of medical care to Brevard Health Alliance patients, including prescribing or administering treatment, therapies, medications, vaccines, and related care.
• Oversight of medical care delivery at the assigned clinic, with mentorship and problem resolution as needed.
• Professional oversight for advanced practice nurses at the clinic location.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

Physicians provide superior quality, competitive value and outstanding service by giving highest standard of quality medical care to Brevard Health Alliance (BHA) patients through the primary care medical home model. Physicians, under the Chief Executive Officer’s supervision, in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer and clinical/front support team, provide extraordinary patient care through BHA Clinics.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics from an accredited medical school. Board certified within 2 years of completion of residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Clear and active Florida MedicalLicense
• Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)License
• 3 years of experience as a practicing physicianpreferred; experience in a primary health care environment, community health center or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)preferred
• Current BLS/CPR or comparable training completed through licensure or certification from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Records(EMR)
• Demonstrates strong oral and written communicationskills
• Extensive knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and ailments. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Delivery of Medical Care

• Provides direct patient care to Brevard Health Alliance patients. Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat orprevent illness, disease, orinjury.
• Provides oversight of delivery of medical care at the assigned clinic BHA with the support ofthe Clinical Manager and Executive clinical team. Serves as a mentor and manages the resolution of practice related problems at assignedClinic.
• Provides professional oversight for any advanced practice nurses assigned at clinical locationof practice.
• Serves in rotation for after-hours callsystem.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Participation in Quality Medical Care

• Participates in Quality ImprovementActivities.
• Participates in utilization and risk managementactivities.
• Participates in review of patient satisfaction surveys and in resolving patientcomplaints.
• Takes ownership and represents Brevard Health Alliance’s mission and organizational goals established by the executive committee. These include, but are not limited to: Productivity, Quality, Patient Satisfaction, and Employee Retention. It is the duty of each BHA employee to incorporate these goals into all daily work routines, and strive to achieve and surpass all goals by working as a team. The mission and goals of BHA will be incorporated into each associate’s Key Performance Indicators and will be evaluated on a monthly and quarterly basis.
