Job summary

Avera Chamberlain Clinic is seeking a dedicated physician to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for direct patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. The role emphasizes compassionate care and adherence to established clinical protocols in a day-shift setting.

The successful candidate will hold a Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy credential with an active license in the service state, and be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team.

Qualifications

• Must hold Medical Doctor or DO credential and active medical license in the state where services are provided. Board eligibility or board certification required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to approved medical staff protocols and standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and families, promoting patient empowerment and health literacy.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interprets diagnostic information and develops appropriate care plans.
• Delivers high-quality care while maintaining patient safety and aseptic practices.
• Recognizes safety factors related to patient care and provides environment-related instruction.
• Understands and supports practice policies, goals, and standards.
• Meets regularly with care teams for consultation and referrals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintains accurate patient records and information.

What You Will Do

• Assesses, diagnoses, and treats patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice.
• Provides medical services and health education to patients and family members. Effectively contributes to the health education of individuals and groups and applies appropriate methods designed to increase each person’s motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care.
• Performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Interprets information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulates appropriate plan of care.
• Provides quality care for patient, demonstrates appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provides patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards.
• Understands, applies, and supports practice policies, procedures, goals and standards.
• Meets regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients. Assures that appropriate referrals are made for patients.
• Maintains patient records and accurate information.
