Job Summary

To provide medical expertise and oversight of care within the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. The physician is expected to exercise the highest level of expertise to optimize quality of care.

Minimum Qualifications & Attributes
  • Board certified or eligible.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school; current state medical license, Federal Drug Enforcement Agency license, state controlled substance license, and staff privileges at all hospitals covered.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teamwork skills facilitating collaboration among healthcare professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Articulate and an active listener.
  • Timely issue resolution within the healthcare system.
  • Commitment to the Partners-in-Caring culture, embodying innovation, accountability, empowerment, collaboration, compassion, and results.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Direct patient care across the healthcare system via consult orders.
  • Provide consultation services in collaboration with attending or primary care providers.
  • Communicate effectively with treatment team members, patients, and families to develop appropriate care plans.
  • Ensure timely and professional communication to deliver quality psychiatric care.
  • Follow best practices and care directives, including performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians, risk managers, and case managers to resolve clinical, administrative, or technical issues.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy policies.
