West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist, Medical Director for our Pediatric Hospitalist program at Princeton Community Hospital.
Duties: The Medical Director will oversee the Princeton Pediatric Hospitalist Program. The Medical Director will ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment and will have oversight relating to activities associated with the delivery of clinical care and will make recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of such care.
The Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring efficient consultation service for patients, streamlined clinical processes, appropriate clinical treatment protocols, and maintenance of high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety. The Medical Director will oversee quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure appropriate outcome measures. The Medical Director will work closely with the physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain an excellent level of general clinical care/operations and will organize the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service.
Qualifications: M.D. or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent. Completed residency in Pediatrics or Family Medicine and West Virginia Medical License eligible. Board eligibility in Family Medicine or Pediatrics. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Hospitalists provide 24-hour call coverage, round on admitted patients including nursery, and support to ED by providing consultative service and admission to unassigned patients. Also, will provide coverage to community pediatricians as requested with appropriate notice and sign-out.
