Job description

Summary

VA Pittsburgh is seeking a fellowship-trained MSK radiologist capable of performing procedures such as arthrograms, bone biopsies, US-guided MSK procedures, and hip injections. The diagnostic radiologist provides a broad range of image interpretation, image-guided procedures, and patient care services within Diagnostic Radiology, with potential subspecialty expertise.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion applicants may be considered tentatively. Existing VA physicians who met previous qualification standards are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only if no qualified citizens are available)
  • MD or equivalent degree from an approved medical school
  • Current unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
  • Completed residency in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
  • Proficiency in English
Preferred Experience:
  • Body imaging, particularly in reading prostate, rectal, and liver MRI
  • Procedures such as lumbar puncture, myelograms, arthrograms
  • Ability to interpret neuro MRI and CT, and to take call
Duties

The incumbent will perform various diagnostic and interventional procedures, interpret imaging studies, participate in quality assurance, and contribute to clinical education and program oversight. Responsibilities include image interpretation, procedure performance, quality management, safety oversight, patient interaction, and participation in clinical conferences.

Work Schedule and Compensation

Full-time with rotating shifts, on-call, and holidays. Compensation includes a competitive salary, performance bonuses, paid time off, retirement benefits, federal insurance, licensure support, CME reimbursement, and malpractice coverage. No employment contract or moonlighting restrictions apply.
