Job description

Position Title

Physician – Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Plastic Surgeon (Open Rank/Track Faculty)

Department

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seeks a full‑time, board‑certified/eligible plastic surgeon. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with the candidate’s academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will join a comprehensive plastic surgery team with a strong focus on breast and body surgery, lower extremity reconstruction, complex wounds, and the development of clinical services within an academic health system. The role includes leadership responsibilities at East Hospital and the Comprehensive Wound Center and participation in multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

The incumbent will also contribute to the department’s academic mission through teaching, mentorship of residents and medical students, and program development.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, high‑quality patient care.
  • Deliver clinical and didactic education to learners of all levels.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies and additional duties assigned by the Chair.
Requirements
  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency Program.
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Plastic Surgery.
  • Eligibility for an Ohio medical license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least five years of post‑residency experience.
  • Prior experience in leadership and program development.
Compensation Package
  • Salary: Commensurate with experience; bonus and relocation assistance available.
