PIH Health in California is seeking Core Faculty members for its expanding Family Medicine Residency Program. You will mentor residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings, delivering lectures on Family Medicine topics and supervising clinical performance.

Qualifications

Position Overview

We currently have three immediate openings for Core Faculty in our Family Medicine Residency Program. This role is ideal for physicians who are passionate about medical education, clinical excellence, and academic leadership in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Teaching and Supervision

• Teach and mentor residents and medical students in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Supervise resident and medical student clinical performance
• Oversee outpatient prenatal care provided by residents
• Participate in optional inpatient rounding with residents approximately every 4–6 weeks, depending on faculty schedule

Academic Leadership and Program Development

• Deliver 8–12 lectures annually on core Family Medicine topics
• Participate in ongoing residency curriculum development and review
• Serve on and contribute to residency program committees
• Lead and support quality improvement initiatives within the residency program

Resident Advising and Procedural Training

• Serve as a mentor and advisor to Family Medicine residents
• Supervise and perform common outpatient procedures, including:
• Musculoskeletal procedures
• Dermatologic procedures
• Gynecologic procedures (Pap smears, contraception procedures, colposcopy)

Required Skills And Experience

• Spanish Speaking is HIGHLY desirable
• Geriatrics or Palliative Care trained Family Medicine physician: The Geriatrics or Palliative Care faculty will help lead our Geriatrics-Palliative Care track
• POCUS, including 1st trimester OB ultrasound
• MAT experience is a plus
• Ability to precept vasectomies is a plus
• Ability to precept circumcisions is a plus
• OB is optional

Compensation Range

$240K-300K
