Overview:

Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York, and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist. Visa Sponsorship Available.

Description:

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health care system that provides care and service to people living in an eight-county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York. The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school- based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

The Cooperstown area is a vibrant, diverse, and sophisticated upstate community set in a bucolic lake- front village affording four seasons of culture and outdoor activity. An unparalleled and well-appointed community sport center is a unique social center for the community and schools.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

· Join an established group of 5 ophthalmologists and 3 optometrists.

· Current need is for a general ophthalmologist who can provide comprehensive eye care

· Current group has pediatric, retina and glaucoma specialists

· Support staff consists of ophthalmic technicians, LPN’s,and RN’s and are well trained

· On call is every 5th weekend, from Cooperstown, and rarely busy

· Outreach clinics are attended by all ophthalmologists but are limited to only one location each

· Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established.

· Salary Range: $400,000 - $475,000 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards

· Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000
