The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Chief of Radiology to oversee complex administrative functions in the Radiology Department. The ideal candidate will possess a Medical Doctor degree, board certification in Radiology, and a strong background in clinical leadership within healthcare settings. This challenging role demands advanced knowledge and the ability to enhance operational efficiency while adhering to healthcare regulations.
The Chief of the Radiology Service has advanced knowledge and ability to direct complex administrative management systems, plus a working knowledge and understanding of general clinical systems as they relate to patient care, the primary mission of the health care system. The Chief of Radiology will assist in the organization, direction, and coordination of all administrative functions of the Radiology Department.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION ARE:
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
Board Certification in Radiology
Minimum 5 years experience in clinical radiology setting, with 1-2 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of implementing innovative radiology practices and enhancing operational efficiency, with a focus on clinical excellence. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance, and accreditation processes, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are highly preferred.

Must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential functions of the position without hazard to themselves or others. The work requires visual acuity (reading typewritten characters), keen hearing, clear speech, manual dexterity, and potentially moderate lifting (15-44 pounds).
