Job summary

St. Mary’s Sleep Medicine in Lewiston, Maine is seeking an experienced Sleep Medicine Physician to lead our Sleep Medicine Department.

This leadership role is predominantly clinical with meaningful influence—uplifting patient care and guiding a multidisciplinary team. This is a clinically based leadership position with direct responsibility for sleep lab interpretations and a dyad leadership model to ensure ongoing accreditation and growth.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required.
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Sleep Medicine; Pulmonology training welcome but not required.
• Unrestricted Maine medical license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Sleep Medicine Department and drive clinical excellence.
• Direct patient care with a focus on sleep lab interpretations.
• Implement and oversee AASM accreditation standards and dyad leadership model.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with system leadership for growth.
• Schedule integrates leadership duties with 4 hours/month protected administrative time and RVU-based productivity.

St. Mary’s Sleep Medicine is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Sleep Medicine Physician to lead our Sleep Medicine Department in Lewiston, Maine. Position Highlights

• A Clinically Based Leadership Role
• Majority of time is direct patient care, including:
  • Full responsibility for all Sleep Lab interpretations
• Leadership responsibilities are integrated into your schedule—not layered on top:
  • 4 hours/month of protected administrative time included in base compensation
  • Remaining hours follow our RVU-based productivity model

Administrative Scope (Site Director – AASM Standard)

• Function as the Site Director for AASM Accreditation
• Lead through a dyad model to ensure ongoing compliance with AASM standards
• Collaborate closely in managing the clinical aspects and performance of the provider team
• Partner with system leadership to drive departmental growth and service expansion
• No additional stipend—leadership responsibilities are part of the base role and recognized in the model design
