Responsibilities

Description:We are seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locum coverage.The provider will round on inpatients in the cardiovascular surgery service.They will be on call for emergent procedures.The provider must see patients and perform procedures on-site.Patients should not be sent to other facilities.Required procedures include CABG and Thoracic surgeries.Vascular procedures are a bonus but not mandatory.The average caseload for CT surgery inpatient is 4-6 patients.On average, there will be 10-12 clinic appointments scheduled for urgent needs.The surgical caseload consists of 1-2 CABG cases per week, with an average of 5-7 other surgical cases.Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech.Support staff will include a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Medical Assistant, and an Office Supervisor.The need for coverage arises from internal privileged locum doctors being unavailable.The provider will be on call 24/7 during the coverage period.
