Job description

Job Opportunity: Medical Director - Cardiac Testing Lab & Cardiac Rehab

StaffMD is seeking a Medical Director for a health system client in southern Ohio. The role involves overseeing the Cardiac Testing Lab and Cardiac Rehab program. Candidates must be ECHO boarded, as the Cardiovascular Testing Department is IAC accredited. Preference is given to those also boarded in Nuclear and TEE.

Practice Details:
  • Hospital-employed position with the Heart & Vascular Group
  • Team includes three Interventional Cardiologists, two Cardiothoracic Surgeons, one Vascular Surgeon, and four Advanced Practitioners
Responsibilities & Work Schedule:
  • Perform and interpret Echocardiograms (15-18 weekly), Dobutamine Stress Echos (1-3), Stress Tests (1-3), Stress Echos (1-3), Nuclear Cardiolites (10-15)
  • Conduct MUGA scans via Nuclear Medicine as resting scans
  • Read echos during half-day sessions (7 am - 12 pm), coinciding with stress test procedures
  • Manage patient volume of approximately 15 patients/day in office, or up to 30 with full-day scheduling
  • On-call duties every 4th night and weekend; compensation includes $75 CERP call and $225 come-in fee
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Two-year contract with salary options:
  • Option 1: $419,000 base (50th percentile MGMA), with experience-based additional compensation; switch to wRVU-based pay upon exceeding targets
  • Option 2: $532,000 base (75th percentile MGMA), guaranteed for one year, then switch to wRVU-based pay
  • Salary reduced by 5% for those not yet boarded; adjustment upon certification
  • Performance bonuses up to 30%
  • Sign-on bonus of $50,000 (paid at signing, forgivable over 2 years)
  • Medical school loan repayment up to $200,000 ($25,000/year)
  • Relocation assistance up to $10,000
  • Four weeks PTO plus holidays and sick days (total 29 days), with an additional 5 days at 75% wRVU achievement
