Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a cardiologist for Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Inc. The role covers examination, diagnosis, and treatment of heart conditions, with responsibility for tests, procedures, and consultations in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree and completion of a residency in general cardiology.
  • Board certified or board eligible with an active state medical license.
  • Current cardiology practice experience, preferably in a community setting.
  • Ability to stay updated on latest medical technologies and guidelines.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating patient conditions and disorders of the heart.
  • Documenting and reviewing patients' histories.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests including EKGs and echocardiograms.
  • Performing cardioversion procedures when necessary.
  • Providing cardiology consultations in hospital settings including ED and acute care.
  • Educating patients about disease prevention and detection.
  • Collaborating with other medical and non-medical personnel.
  • Ensuring coordination and referrals for patient care and access across services.
  • Supervising Clinic APPs in performing stress tests and other clinical services.
  • Engaging in performance improvement and quality initiatives with Medical Director.

Job Summary
  • Examining, diagnosing, and treating patient conditions and disorders of the heart.

  • Performing cardioversion procedures when necessary.
  • Providing cardiology consultations in hospital setting including ED and acute care.

  • Ensuring coordination and appropriate referrals for patient care and access across services.
  • Supervising Clinic APP(s) in performing stress tests and other clinical services as may be determined.
  • Participating in performance improvement and quality initiatives in collaboration with the Medical Director.
Qualifications

General Cardiology Requirements:

  • A Medical Degree and the successful completion of a residency in general cardiology.
  • Board certified/eligible and state license.
  • Current experience practicing Cardiology within 2 years; preferably in a community setting.
  • The ability to keep updated on the latest medical technologies.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good teamworking, leadership, and organizational skills.

The salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $3,120,000.00 annually.
