Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a Physician Billing Specialist to handle all aspects of accounts receivable for professional claims. The role focuses on denial analysis, payer follow-up, and ensuring timely reimbursements through accurate claim processing.

You will coordinate with practices and hospital departments, process corrections, appeals, and resubmissions while monitoring reimbursement trends and reporting challenges to management.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Knowledge of medical billing and insurance reimbursement practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding.
• Ability to type accurately 45 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on outstanding A/R by analyzing denials and unpaid claims with payers.
• Ensure accurate claim processing by following up with payers for timely payment.
• Process claims in revenue cycle system, check eligibility and correct errors.
• Coordinate with departments to answer claim questions and process claims.
