Job summary

Oscar Medical Group is seeking a bilingual physician to join the Virtual Urgent Care team for remote, US-based care. The role focuses on delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to Oscar Health Insurance members via audio, video, and written communication.

You will report to the Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care, and work 5 days with day/evening shifts, including one weekend every four weeks. Licensure via IMLC is required, with potential licensing in other states.

Qualifications

  • MD/DO from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification (ER/FM/IM).
  • 3+ years of outpatient urgent care or emergency department experience.
  • 2+ years of delivering virtual care/telemedicine.
  • Active licenses in Tennessee and Florida via IMLC; willingness to obtain licenses in additional states.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality care in a virtual setting.
  • Collaborate with physicians and leads on complex cases.
  • Follow up on labs, imaging, and communications with patients and providers.
  • Utilize remote exams and home monitoring tools for assessments.
  • Participate in collaborative care with nurses, medics, PCPs, and behavioral health staff.
  • Attend meetings to support patient care and improve workflows.

Hi, we're Oscar Medical Group. We're hiring a Bilingual Physician to join our Virtual Urgent Care team.

About the role:

You will provide virtual based care to Oscar Health Insurance members within designated Oscar states. You will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients using audio, video, and written forms of communication

You will report into the Medical Director, Virtual Urgent Care.

Hours & Shifts:

We offer full-time 5-day (8-hour) schedules with day (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) shifts available. Both schedules include a rotation to work one weekend every four weeks. Specific shift preferences will be selected during the application process.

This is a remote / work-from-home role. While your daily work will be completed from your home office, occasional travel may be required for team meetings and company events. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: $227,226 - $298,233 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits including, but not limited to CME, PTO, 401k, and annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high quality care for patients in a virtual setting
  • Collaborate with Physicians and/or Advanced Practice Leads on the Care Team as needed when working with complex patients
  • Follow up on labs, imaging, and closed loop communication with patients and other providers as needed
  • Use tooling to allow virtual "exams" including remote home monitoring equipment, remote physical exam, remote point of care diagnostics
  • Participate in collaborative care model with various care team members including but not limited to registered nurses, medical assistants, PCPs, behavioral health clinicians, and clinical supervisor where applicable
  • Participate in required meetings to support patient care including huddles, case conferencing and regular service line All Hands
  • Provide feedback to support improvement in operational workflows and product features
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • MD/DO from accredited program
  • Board Certification (ER/FM/IM)
  • Spanish fluency (read, write, and speak)
  • 3+ years of outpatient urgent care or emergency department experience
  • 2+ years of experience delivering virtual care/telemedicine
  • Must be onboarded with active licenses in both Tennessee and Florida via the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
  • Willingness to be licensed in additional states with our assistance, working with our licensing vendor
  • Compact license from IMLCC or eligible for a compact license (hold a full, unrestricted medical license in a state that is a member of the Compact)
Bonus points:
  • Possession of a current IMLC Letter of Qualification (LOQ) is preferred
  • Able and willing to obtain additional licensure in Oscar Medical Group states: AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, MI, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, TX, VA

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
