Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida seeks a Physician Assistant to practice medicine under physician supervision, contributing to oncology and related surgical care. You will evaluate and manage patients, perform procedures within scope, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, active Florida medical license (or license-eligible), BLS and ACLS, and preferred Master’s degree. Oncology/internal medicine or surgical experience is advantageous.

Summary

Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. Provides patient care under the auspices of Moffitt Medical Group and serves as member of the academic medical enterprise; advancing the institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

As a medical provider that is not a physician but is licensed to diagnose and treat patients under the supervision of a physician, the Physician Assistant assists physicians in the evaluation, management and treatment of patients. The Physician Assistant is involved in a wide spectrum of patients with different medical problems, procedures and co-morbidities. Works independently within a defined scope of practice and under the authority of supervising physician(s).

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

• Bachelor’s degree minimum (Field of Study: Physician Assistant); Master’s degree preferred.

• Active FL medical license (or the ability to obtain one) and certification by the appropriate accreditation body.

• Active BLS and ACLS (evidence-based AHA approved)

EXPERIENCE:

Experience in oncology/internal medicine and/or general surgery/specialty surgery is preferred. Experience as needed to obtain clinical privileges for surgical procedures specific to Department and position.

Salary Range

$138,424.00 - $211,120.00

Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
