• Manage work-related injuries and workers' compensation cases.
• Conduct DOT/FMCSA medical examinations; NRCME certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Document encounters in the EHR; collaborate with HR and safety managers to support return-to-work.

What You'll Do

Novant Health Employer Solutions (NHES) is seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Occupational Medicine and Onsite Wellness team. The APP will deliver high-quality clinical services across employer-based occupational health and wellness settings, working under physician supervision. This role requires independent clinical judgment, strong documentation skills, and a commitment to occupational health best practices.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational medicine evaluations including pre-placement, periodic, return-to-work, and fitness-for-duty examinations
• Perform OSHA-mandated medical surveillance examinations (respiratory, hearing conservation, silica, HAZMAT, bloodborne pathogen)
• Evaluate and manage work-related injuries and illnesses, including workers’ compensation cases
• Conduct DOT/FMCSA commercial driver medical examinations (NRCME certification required or willingness to obtain)
• Perform and interpret audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, and vision screening as indicated
• Complete respirator medical evaluations in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134
• Provide onsite wellness services including annual wellness visits, health risk assessments, biometric screenings, and urgent care complaints as needed
• Document all encounters in the electronic health record in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner
• Collaborate with employers, HR representatives, and safety managers to support return-to-work
• Communicate work restrictions, fitness determinations, and clinical summaries in accordance with NHES standards

What We're Looking For

Candidate Qualifications:

• Education: Master's Degreerequired. A graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program required.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, BLS, DEA registry required.
