Job summary

Twin Cities Orthopedics is seeking a Physician Assistant to support Upper Extremity surgical services in a full-time role across our Edina, Eden Prairie, and Eagan locations.

The PA will work under the supervision of physicians to provide clinic and operating room coverage, perform therapeutic procedures, manage patient care plans, and participate in outreach activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Minnesota Board of Medical Practice registration.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in the clinic (e.g., room and prep patients; order x-rays; compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination).
• Assist surgeon in operating room (e.g., pre-surgery planning, position patient in O.R., check for proper instruments, assist in surgical procedure, close wound, remove patient).
• Perform therapeutic procedures such as splinting, casting, suturing and wound care.
• Apply, remove, modify and adjust casts and soft goods; change dressings; remove sutures.
• Implement patient management plans, record progress, and assist in provision of care.
• Consultations with patients for cast application/adjustment, dressing changes or brace application; etc.
• Rounding and call, as required by supervising Physician
• Prescribe medications
• Occasionally participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
• Any and all other duties as assigned

Job Category: Advanced Practice Providers

The Physician Assistant is responsible to provide healthcare services to patients in both the clinic and in surgery, under direction and responsibility of physician(s).

This is a full-time position working out of our Edina, Eden Prairie, and Eagan locations.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:

• Assist physician in the clinic (e.g., room and prep patients; order x-rays; compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination)
• Assist surgeon in operating room (e.g., pre-surgery planning, position patient in O.R., check for proper instruments, assist in surgical procedure, close wound, remove patient)

• Actual starting pay will vary based on education, skills, and experience.
  • The pay range displayed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated for employees working less than a full-time schedule.

Working Conditions:

• Frequentlylift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.

• Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
• Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
